-Review Battle of Little Big Horn and Wounded Knee Massacre from Friday!
-Brainstorm Native American history we have studied this year and compile together -Story of Sand Creek Massacre and discussion -Primary source activity! -Prepare skits ~Wampanoag and the Pilgrims ~Pontiac's Rebellion ~Tecumseh ~Battle of Little Big Horn and Wounded Knee Massacre Target Goals: -Students will recall prior knowledge from this year about Native American history; they will explain what occurred at the Sand Creek Massacre and critique the U.S. actions there Students will analyze three sets of primary sources about Native American resistance in the late 1800s, and they will synthesize why Native American resistance weakened by the early 1900s |

-Finish preparing and present skits!
~Wampanoag and the Pilgrims ~Pontiac's Rebellion ~Tecumseh ~Battle of Little Big Horn and Wounded Knee Massacre MSVPA banquet is after school until 5:30 p.m. Target Goals: -Students will create and present skits that explain the significance of the aforementioned events in Native American history; their skits will convey what happened, as well as its impact on Native American nations -Students will reflect on their summative study of the 1600s through early 1900s and evaluate U.S. interactions with Native American nations over that time period |
